The Last Dragon
What does it mean to be a man? What are the benefits? What are the expectations? What are the drawbacks? What does it mean to be an American man? Better still, what does it mean to be a Black American man?
So many questions and no one really has any good answers.
I thought I knew. My father was born in the 1930’s and raised on a strong set of morals, ethics, and values. Get up before the sun, keep your nose to the grindstone, provide for and protect your family, don’t rest until long after the sun has set…and get up and do it all over again tomorrow, eight days a week…
Needless to say, functioning from this foundation, we didn’t see dad very much but his presence was always felt. When he was home it was straighten up and fly right…or else! What I didn’t learn from dad was supplemented by healthy doses of Spaghetti Westerns and Action movies firmly rooted in the 1960’s and beyond. Ahhhhh…this is what it meant to be a man. A good woman at your beck and call with the children ready to greet you as you walk through the door.
To have this picturesque life all a man had to do was “slay the Dragon”, rescue the girl…and the rest would fall blissfully into place…
I am here to tell you this formula no longer applies in Modern America. I have been observing women for a while now and I am here to tell you, women say they are looking for a soul mate, but really…they are out for REVENGE. It seems that since the feminist movement, which really picked up momentum in the 1980’s, American women are out to eradicate the source of all that is evil, the scourge known as the Male Ego.
There is an impending spiritual shift in our society that is much over due. Women, have taken it upon themselves to take on the male role and female role because: “If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.” Unfortunately this has created an incredible imbalance in the way men and women relate to each other and…the war MUST end.
Men…this is a call to arms…this site is a place to rally, learn, and formulate a plan…it is time to gather and slay the last Dragon…to redefine what it means to be a man and heal our society…
To learn more about the Last Dragon watch this interview with Joseph Campbell. He is the foremost authority on Mythology and the “spirit” behind Star Wars. It is somewhat long so if you are only interested in the Dragon go to 35:55, but I recommend the complete clip.
